Exoge is currently working on a modular space launch system. Exoge plans to use manufacturing techniques used in many other industries to bring down the high costs of space access. This system will be based on one common module. This one module can be mass produced to reduce costs. These modules will be staged side by side, parallel staging, in order to launch heavy payloads.
Why Modular? Using a module will allow us to develop one rocket. This rocket will be a simple pressure fed rocket. The module also allows us to develop a smaller engine. We do not need to spend millions of dollars developing a high efficiency high thrust engine. We only need a small engine capable of lifting one module and the payload weight for that module. The payload weight is a fraction of the total payload based on the number of modules in the stage.
The system will use standard irrigation pipe for the tanks. The module will essentially be a very long pipe. Our initial launch system will be designed around a ten inch pipe but it will not be capable of very large payloads but the development costs are much lower for the smaller pipes. The system will scale to larger pipe in the ten to twelve inch diameter range for the heavier payloads.
We are currently working on these parts of the module:
engine,
igniter,
tanks, and
electronics.
Together these components make up our module and we view them as pieces of a puzzle. We also view the components as puzzles as well. Using this concept helps us to visualize production methods. This method also aids in looking for commercial parts to use as pieces of the puzzle.
